February 16, 2004: While John Kerry remembers events occurring in Vietnam more than 30 years ago, he, along with the rest of the Democratic party, seems unable to recall the recent past. Take a gander at these salient Dem "blasts" from the recent past:

"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line."
- President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998

"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."
- President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998

"Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face."

- Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998

"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983."
- Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998

"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."
- Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. Carl Levin, Tom Daschle,
John Kerry, and others Oct. 9, 1998

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass
destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."
- Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998

"Hussein has... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies."
- Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999

"There is no doubt that... Saddam Hussein has invigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear programs continue apace and may be back to pre-Gulf War status. In addition, Saddam continues to redefine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten the United States and our allies."
- Letter to President Bush, Signed by Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL,) and
others, December 5, 2001

"We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandates of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and the means of delivering them."
- Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002

"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..."
- Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force -- if necessary -- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security."
- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002........

Any proof of WMD yet ? None !

"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."
- President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998

Once again, no WMD found whatsoever. And as far as I know, Iraq was not involved in any war when USA bombed them. They actually accepted the comeback of UN inspectors but USA decided to start the war regardless.

"Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face."

Of course that whatever happens there, it matters here, beacause of all of their oil. But stil, no proofs of any nuclear, biological or chemical weapons.

"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983."

Which ones ? The ones that can not be found by 150 000 ground troops in Iraq ?

"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."

Well that was a really invisible program. The Iraquis probably used the famous american Stealth technology. There WMD just can not be seen.

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass
destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."
- Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998

No WMD found. And actually the USA made a mockery of UN inspection program by bombing Iraq regardless the repports from the ground. Did you ever bother to hear what Hans Flix has to say about this issue ?

"Hussein has... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies."
- Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999

Finally something that is half true. While the palaces are visible, those WMD are stil invisible.

What reports ? UN reports were telling us that no WMD has been found. And if CIA had some other reports, then how come they can not find anything now that they are all over Iraq.

"We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandates of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and the means of delivering them."
- Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002

The Iraq was not threatening its neighboors this time around. Let alone the building of WMD.

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

Throuout the country ? Then it should be easy to find, right ?

"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

Wait a minute. Was he building the WMD or searching for them ?

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002

So, now that you full acces to that country, how come you can't find a single weapon of mass destruction ?

"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..."
- Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002

Lol. That inteligence isnt allways intelligent, isn't it ?

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force -- if necessary -- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security."

Lol. I f you belive in it, it doesn't mean its true. Show me some proofs.

By the way Pat, I don't see any of them explaining the war on Iraq as a result of Iraqis/Afghanistans laws against females.

Look, so far no wmd's and there was probably an intelligence failure...OK you win that point.I'm very disappointed about that
but don't say the intent to lie was there, because it wasn't....the UN was going by the same intelligence...If the UN and Saddam had lived up to the agreements originaly the US wouldn't have this problem. but the UN had their own agenda didn't they.
It wasn't like they invaded SWEDEN!
Its been only 10 mos. at least I see progress.
If the fxckin UN and the corrupt pygmys that infest that institution would have backed up the US like the US has done for them a million times, all this would have been accomplished with a lot less pain for everybody.

Pat

I will not try to correct your spelling and grammar, simply because English is not my forst language. I speak Italian and French since I was born but I started learning English when I was 10.

It is not about winning the point buddy. As I said before, I do not hate and if there is anything I really hate is the hate.

If I was given some proofs about the threat to Western Civilisation by Iraquis WMD, I would be the first one to accept the American approach. But I just felt, and stil feel that it wasnt a just war.

When they prove me wrong, I will apologize to everyone on this forum.

UN did have a bad approach on this problem, but so did USA as well. At least, the UN wanted to give the peace a chance. Their reports on WMD were obviously more correct than USA's.

Did the USA gvt spred lies to justify there war, knowing that there were no WMD in Iraq, that I don't know. But it sure looks like that.

Have a good day my friend, and remember, I'M not here to start fights with other posters. I just love to talk with people, exchange opinions. We can have 100% opposite opinions, but it really doesnt matter.

You say to give peace a chance,I agree, but the people in Iraq,Ahgh, Libya maybe Iran might have a chance at real peace due to the actions of the US...All this blood for oil talk so far has been french oil and American blood...two timing whores.
